Dr. Nicolas Brüggen is a Partner and Tax Advisor at AC CHRISTES, where he is responsible for comprehensive tax transaction advisory services at the Düsseldorf office. His focus lies on advising corporate clients on inbound and outbound investments, international tax planning, permanent establishment analyses, transactions (M&A Tax), and corporate reorganizations.

Before joining AC Christes, Nicolas Brüggen worked from 2012 to 2018 in the international tax practice of a German Big Four firm, followed by his role as a Partner in the transaction advisory practice at Grant Thornton Germany from 2018 to 2026. He brings 15 years of professional experience in specialized tax advisory, M&A-related tax matters, and tax compliance.

In parallel to his role at Grant Thornton, he was affiliated with the Chair of Business Taxation at the University of Düsseldorf from 2018 to 2022. During this time, he co-led master’s courses as a certified tax advisor, conducted research on (digital) permanent establishments, and earned his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.). Additionally, Dr. Nicolas Brüggen served as a lecturer at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (HSD) in the field of general business administration.

He studied Business Administration with a focus on Corporate Taxation at the University of Cologne (B.Sc.) and the University of Mannheim (M.Sc.).
